Drumavaddy Church Finance Committee

There will be a meeting of the Church Finance Committee on next Wed. night 13th April at 8.30pm in the Community Centre.

History of Drumavddy Church

Fr Liam and The Drumavaddy Church Finance Committee are working on a history of St Matthew’s Church, Drumavaddy.  We are looking  for old photographs relating to the church – photos of Weddings, Baptisms, First Commmunions, Confirmations etc which took place there. We are particularly looking for photographs of the inside of the church before it was changed in the late 1950s.  If you have a suitable photograph please give it  to Seán Gaffney, Mary Kiernan, Pat Morgan or Michael Galligan.

Slieve Glah Drama

The last chance to see Rumours will be in Ballyhaise Community Centre on next Friday 15th April.  Curtain is up at 8.30pm sharp.

Table Quiz

Lisa McPhillips and Danielle Quigley’s Table Quiz in aid of the Zambia appeal has been rescheduled for Sat 7th May in the Tank bar at 9pm. Please support this worthy cause.

Drumavaddy Youth Club Easter Disco

Will take place in the Community Centre on Sat.16th April from 6.30 to 7.45pm Spot prizes galore. Easter egg for everyone. Admission€5 per child, €20 per family.

Denn Gaelic Football Club

The Blotto Draw took place in the Crosskeys Inn on Mon. 4th April.  The winning numbers were 2,4, 5 & 25.  There was no jackpot winner. The weekly winners were   Nancy Tierney, Danny Reilly, Dermot McDermott, Anthony Boylan & Padraig Miney. The next draw will be on Mon. 11th April in The Den.

First Confessions

Denn Parish Pastoral Council

Will have a meeting on Mon. night 18th April at 8.30pm in the Crosskeys Sacristy.

Scrap Metal Collection For Parish of Dennn

There will be Scrap Metal Collection in the parish on the Saturday after Easter, that is Saturday 30th April.  By collecting the scrap metal we will be helping the environment and also raising funds for Drumavaddy and Crosskeys Church funds.  The metal will be collected in two centres, at the Community Centre in Drumavaddy and in the village of Crosskeys.  So we ask people to bring their scrap metal to one or other of these centres on that day.  Flyers with more information are available this weekend.

Crosskeys Village

It is hoped to tidy up the village of Crosskeys and enter it into the Tidy Towns competition. There will be meeting of all who are interested in the appearance of the village in the Resource Centre, Crosskeys, on next Thursday, 14th April at 9pm.  All are invited to attend. History Talk

Cumann Seanchais Bhréifne is hosting a lecture by De Leasa   Mhunghaile on Charlotte Brooke, a pioneer of Gaelic Scholarship in the Museum Ballyjamesduff on Wed.13th April at 8pm.  All are welcome.

Young Adult Prayer Group

The Young Adult Prayer Group will have a meeting on Thursday 14th April at 8pm in St. Clare's Chapel, Cavan. All welcome.

Age & Opportunity
