St Patrick’s Day

Next Wednesday 17th March is St Patrick’s Day.  There will be two Masses in the parish for the Holyday – at 8pm on Tuesday evening in Drumavaddy and at 11am in Crosskeys on Wednesday.  Please note that there will be no Adoration or Mass in Drumavaddy on this coming Wednesday evening.

Recent Deaths

You are asked to please pray for Patsy Cahill, formerly of Ardkill whose funeral takes place in New York on Monday.  Also you are asked to pray for Katie Boylan, Drumbrade, who died during the past week. May they rest in peace.

Age and Opportunity

Please note that the Age & Opportunity meeting is on next Thursday from 6 to 8pm. The usual buses will travel.  A chiropodist will attend.

Intermediate Computer Course

A follow-on course from the Introduction to Computer Course will begin in Drumavaddy Community Centre on Wed. Mar 24th and will run for 14 weeks on each Wed. night from 7.30 to 9.30pm. It costs €70. It is being organized by Drumavaddy Social & Dev. Committee in conjunction with Cavan VEC. Book early as places are limited.

If you have not yet seen “Funny Money” it will be staged at the following venues:  Fri. 19th March in Mullahoran Hall, and Fri. 28th March in Ballyjamesduff Hall. Don’t miss it and have a laugh

Denn Gaelic Football Club

The monthly meeting will take place on Fri. 19th Mar. at 9pm in the clubrooms. All members please attend. The blotto numbers drawn this week were 2, 23, 24 & 25.  There was no jackpot winner. The weekly winners were The Slowey boys, Vincent Flood, Rosaleen Galligan, Carmel Lawless & Phelim Donohoe.  The next draw will take place in the Farnham Arms Hotel  on Mon. 8th March. The Jackpot is €15,000

Confirmation

Congratulations to all the children who received Confirmation on Friday evening -Bernard Gaffney, Cavell Keogan, Michael Keogan, Daniel McConnell, Fergal Walsh, Amanda Cobey, Fiona Cobey, Rachel Donohoe, Rebecca Fitzsimons, Neeve Hyland, Jennifer Lynch, Eimear Tennyson and Zillah Curran.  They are lovely young people and we pray that God will bless them and guide them throughout their lives.  Thanks to their teacher Mrs Keogan who prepared them so well for the Sacrament and thanks to the Parents Association for providing the refreshments afterwards.

Please Note

That because of St Patrick’s Day there will be no early morning Mass on next Wed. There will be Stations of the Cross on next Friday evening at 7pm.

Foróige

There will be a cake sale after Mass on this Sunday.  You are asked to please support it. The next Foróige meeting will be on Fri.19th Mar at 7pm sharp.

Haiti Fund Raising Table Quiz

Carl Smith has volunteered to go to Haiti on a ‘Build it Week’ to help rebuild the country after the recent earthquake.  A Haiti Fund Raising Quiz  will be held in The Carraig Springs on Fri 26th Mar. at 8.30pm. Please support this worthy cause.

Denn GFC Club Membership

Club membership is now due. It must be in by March 19th   Membership runs from April 1st to 31st Mar the following year. To be entitled to the rights of a full member you must have paid your fees to the club. Stand alone adult membership is €40. Combined membership and Blotto remains the same as last year. Contact any committee member.

Blessing of Graves

The blessing of the graves will take place this year in Crosskeys on Sun. 18th July after the 11am Mass and in Drumavaddy on Sun. 1st August after Mass at 12noon.

Congratulations

To Denn Indoor Camogie team who won their final last Sat. in Killinkere. The team was Shanise Fitzsimons, Kiara Donoghoe, Niamh Galligan, Aoife Galligan, Aoife O’Reilly, Michela Hyland & Julie Smith. Next indoor camogie training is on Wed. 24th March.

Inny Gaels Ladies Football Club

Wishes to thank the quizmaster Paddy Sheanon and all who supported their recent Table quiz in the Carraig Springs. It was a great success. Thanks to all.
