Wedding Bells

Congratulations to Deirdre McGovern, Leggendenn and J.J. Murphy, Belturbet who were married in Drumavaddy on last Saturday. We wish them health, happiness and every blessing.

Will have a meeting  on next Tues. 5th July at 9pm in the Community Centre.

Drumavaddy Festival

There will be a Box Car race during the upcoming festival. The minimum age for taking part is 14 years. Entrants must make their own Box Cars and they cannot be motorised. So time to start designing and building your Box Car for the big race!

Golden Jubilee Function

On next Wed. week, 13th July a  concelebrated Mass of Thanksgiving will take place at 8pm in Drumavaddy Church to mark the Golden Jubilee of Fr Patsy Sullivan’s ordination to the priesthood.  The Mass will be followed by refreshments and  a social and presentation in the Community Centre.  All are invited for this important event.

Under Age Girls Football

All Under-8 and Under-10 girls interested in playing Gaelic football are invited to training in Crosskeys each Friday evening from 6.30 to 7.30pm.

Denn Gaelic Football Club

The Blotto Draw for this week took place in the Carraig Springs on Mon. 27th h June. There was no Jackpot winner.  The numbers drawn were 21, 27, 28 & 30. The Jackpot is now €1,300. The weekly winners were Mary Keogan, Ollie Brady, T. Crowe, Jim Hyland & Martin Reilly. The next draw will be on Mon. 4th July in The Den.

Crosskeys Summer Fest 2011

Don’t forget The Crosskeys Summer Festival takes place next weekend from Friday 8th to Sunday 10th July.  It promises to be a fun-filled weekend. The Townland Challenge Table Quiz  which takes place on

Friday night will be a chance to test your knowledge about the local

parish and townlands and will be an enjoyable night out. The County Colours Fancy Dress on Sat 9th will be both a colourful and enjoyable event.  The field day on Sun. 10thFunday Sunday – will provide fun for people of all ages and interests.  So get out and enjoy the weekend events. Crosskeys Church Finance Committee

There will be a meeting of Crosskeys Church Finance Committee on this Wed evening 6th July at 9pm in the sacristy. The Finance Committee wishes to thank the Festival Committee for their very generous donation of €1,500 to the church fund.

Blessing of the Graves

Takes place in Crosskeys on this day two weeks Sun 17th July after the 11am Mass.  You are asked to please make sure that all grave plots are tidied before then.  When you are tidying the grave plots lease bring all the rubbish home with you.  The blessing of the graves in Drumavaddy takes place on Sunday 31st July after 12 noon Mass.

County Museum Ballyjamesduff

The Museum is well worth a visit and is open each week Tues to Sat. from 10am to 5pm and on Sundays (July to Sept) from 2-6pm.  Comhaltas traditional Music sessions with Martin Donohoe each Tue night in July and August at 8pm. All welcome to take part.
